"Do you see what I see?"

Connect to the child's perspective

Parenting–Professional Development–Health

We all love to consult with experts on whatever problem we're experiencing but often forget that we too are experts on our own lives.  If you believe in the importance of relationships and in the notion that the whole is not equivalent to just the sum of its parts, then you have come to the right place.  I teach you how to uncover the wisdom you already carry to get new perspective on your parenting, health, and/or work with children and families.  You will learn to ask the right questions, become a better observer, see with new eyes, feel less stressed, more skilled, more confident, and healthier.  Your new skills and attitude will transfer to the way you parent, teach, lead, and live your life to positively affect all those around you.

My practice is based on the mindful empowerment of parents and professionals who work with young people to see whatever challenges they're facing through the lens of the child, regardless of age. My holistic approach is grounded in child development theory, with emphasis on relationships, culture and context, the brain-gut connection, and food as medicine.  It is informed by the latest research in psychology, education, neuroscience, medicine, and nutrition.

PARENTING

My child is struggling with remote learning or in-person schooling and I’m concerned about his/her/their mental health.
I need help understanding my child’s learning diagnosis and how to help her/him/them reach her potential.
I’m searching for ways to understand my child’s behavioral challenges and support them/him/her on the path to resilience and success.
We need support to navigate a new medical diagnosis that is affecting our child’s relationships, learning, and behavior.
Our families need support blending after divorce.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

My staff needs support in reflective pedagogy and making learning visible.
We’d like to get some training on cultural competence in the classroom.
Our team wants to learn about ways to foster resilience and a growth mindset in our students.
My staff needs some coaching to problem-solve a few challenging student cases.
We need a workshop series on social and emotional development for parents in our community.

HEALTH

I want to understand the connection between the mind, gut, and mental health and how food can help.
My group would love to learn how to cook Greek dishes for gut, brain, and mental health.
My family is looking for non-pharmaceutical ways to support our child’s new diagnosis of autism, ADHD, or other neurodevelopmental issue that is associated with challenging behaviors.
Our family is in crisis and we need support and coaching to prevent the development of anxiety and depression in our children and ourselves.
We are looking for a fun team-building cooking class for our staff/parents/students.

"Dr. Anastasia Galanopoulos worked as a consultant for the Freedman Center at William James College for over 5 years. In her capacity, she led parent support groups, designed and presented specialty workshops and other materials on various child and family topics for client distribution, and provided professional development as well as child observation and consultation to our educator partners and community at large. Her work was professional, evidence- and research-informed and very well received by our community of parents and other client organizations. Anastasia has a style that is warm and nurturing and always met families “where they were” to help them get to where they wanted to be! I was honored to have Dr. Galanopoulos as part of our consulting staff and recommend her highly."
